Luxembourg’s economy expanded in the latest quarter, according to new figures released by the National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC). GDP rose by 1.1% compared with the previous quarter, while year-on-year growth reached 2.7%.
However, the growth was not uniform across all sectors. The construction industry continued its downward trend, with a deeper contraction than previously estimated. The sector declined by 0.7% in the second quarter, compared with an earlier estimate of -0.2%.
STATEC’s revised data also shows that the first quarter of 2025 performed significantly better than initially thought, now recorded at +2.6% instead of the previously reported -1.9%. The fourth quarter of 2024 remains unchanged with modest growth of 0.1%.
