Brad Pitt is set to reprise his role as Cliff Booth from Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, in a new spin-off directed by David Fincher. The film, titled The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, will debut with a two-week global IMAX run starting November 25, before being available for streaming on Netflix from December 23. The story follows Booth, a Hollywood stuntman with a mysterious past, as he navigates the evolving film industry of the late 1970s.
Quentin Tarantino, known for his iconic directorial works, has penned the screenplay for this film. However, he will not be directing it, having previously expressed his desire not to end his directorial career with a sequel, despite his enthusiasm for the Cliff Booth storyline. Instead, David Fincher, renowned for his work on films like Fight Club, Zodiac, The Social Network, and Gone Girl, will be at the helm, offering a fresh creative direction to the project.
The film is set in 1977, eight years following the events of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and explores Booth’s life as he adjusts to the shifting landscape of Hollywood. This new chapter in Booth’s story brings together a star-studded cast including Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, and Karren Karagulian, alongside Pitt. The original film featured Pitt alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie, set against the backdrop of Los Angeles in the late 1960s.
